NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox men's basketball team opened up their Northwest Conference season on Friday, as the Bruins hosted the Loggers in a tough 98-75 loss.

The opening minutes in the first half were extremely fast, as both teams traded baskets back and forth to get things going. The Bruins held on to the lead for the majority of the first half, but the Loggers went on a run at the 4:57 mark to take a six-point lead just before half, 33-27. The Loggers closed the first half with six-straight points to go into the break up by nine, 42-33.
In the start of the second half, the Loggers used their momentum to push away from the Bruins, as they jumped out to a 14-point lead at the 15:44 mark. The Bruins tried to chip away at the lead, but the Loggers were relentless in the second half using big runs to keep the Bruins at bay.
Top Performers:
Johnathan Doutt led the Bruins with 13 points on the night. JJ lacey, Jacoby Wolfe and Kajahn Patton all added nine points, while Patton's mark is a new career-high for the freshman. Wolfe was three rebounds and one points shy of a double-double.
What Comes Next:
The Bruins will continue their NWC play on Saturday when they travel to Pacific for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
