NEWBERG, Ore. --- Despite an impassioned performance and a scintillating 16-point night from Brendin Quinn, the Bruins could not overcome a quality, all-around performance from the Lewis and Clark Pioneers and concluded their season with an 84-60 loss. George Fox's normally reliable shooting was off-kilter: the Bruins shot just 12% from three in the second half and just 58% from the free-throw line.

The Bruins kept pace with the Pioneers through the game's opening stages and seized an 18-16 lead with ten minutes left in the half when Chris Stanfield dropped in a layup with some excellent low-post play. The Pioneers, though, responded with an impressive run to close out the first period of play, taking a 38-27 lead into halftime.

Although the Bruins began the second half with their typical energy and hustle, the Pioneers' technical precision allowed them to coast through the second half, stymieing any attempt at a Bruin comeback, and see the game out to the 84-60 final score.

Despite the defeat, the Bruins showed flashes of their talent. Quinn, besides his team-leading 16 points, had a tremendous block, two steals, and a team-high seven rebounds.

Senior Center Chris Stanfield finished his senior night with a good shift beneath the basket, blocking a pair of shots and playing generally stalwart defense. He finished his night with nine points. Spot-up shooter Joshua Caddel made two of his five attempted threes.

Serg Ovchinnikov led Lewis and Clark with 19 points. Jason Luhnow secured a double-double, scoring 14 points and hauling in 12 rebounds.

With the win, the Pioneers improve to 14-10, 9-6 in the Northwest Conference.

The loss drops the Bruins to finish at 5-20, 3-13 in Northwest Conference play, although their final win-loss record belies their talented performances
