NEWBERG, Ore. --- Extending their streak of dynamic of play, the Bruins defeated Pacific Lutheran on Saturday afternoon, 9-0. With the victory, the white-hot Bruins improve to 3-1 on the year, putting together their best early-season stretch in recent memory.

"Andy You and Spencer Watanabe set the tone early in both doubles and singles, with dominant wins on both fronts," said head coach Neal Ninteman, and the box score proves him correct.

Andrew You and Spencer Watanabe indeed set the standard for the Bruins, winning their #1 doubles match by a comfortable 8-3.

Chris Lilley and Chase Stalcup did their part in the #2 match, victorious by 8-6, and partners Nichols Grafton and Vincent Viloria rampaged through their #3 game, 8-0.

The Bruins continued their winning ways in singles, as Lilley brushed aside Pacific Lutheran's Sam Stadter in the #1 match in two sets, 6-4, 6-2. You was even more dominant in the #2, defeating James Okubo 6-1, 6-3.

Watanabe, though, was perhaps the strongest player on the day, dropping just a single game in his 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Noel Oteng-Mensah in #3 singles. Grafton needed three sets but also came away the victor, and Viloria and Mitchell Miyahsiro both took their games in two sets to complete the Bruins' sweep.

The Bruins hope to extend their dominating run of play tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Puget Sound.
