NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's volleyball team had an excellent showing Thursday night, as the Bruins defeated Warner Pacific, 3-1.
Recap:
After falling down 0-4 right out the gates, the Bruins could never quite catch up to Warner Pacific's attack in the first set, where they fell 20-25. However, they came back with a vengeance in the second set, winning 27-25. From the second set on, it seemed as if the Knights were worse for the wear. The Bruins surged in the third and fourth sets, propelled by two huge 6-point runs. Ultimately, George Fox claimed victory in the third set, winning 25-21 with a similar 25-22 result in the fourth, taking the match 3-1.
Top Performers:
Outside hitters Danyle Dupray and Delaney Cruz provided the bulk of the offensive attack for the Bruins once again, delivering 11 and 12 kills respectively. Middle blocker Erin Sprowls also got in her 9 kills on top of 3 blocks on the night. Payton Shrum recorded 33 assists on the night, which moves her career assists number to 2,428. She is still seventh All-Time in career assists. Kelsea Meyers was a huge spark for the Bruins recording seven service aces. She was just three off tying the school record set by Michelle Nelsen back in 1995.
What It Means:
Bruins improve to 2-4 on the season a week before they head into conference play. The Knights drop to a 2-4 record on the season.

The Bruins are set to face New Hope Christian College on Tuesday down in Eugene in their final game before conference play.
