NEWBERG, Ore. --- It was a night to remember for the George Fox women's soccer team, as the Bruins kicked-off conference play against the Boxers of Pacific University with a 4-1 victory.

Since 2012, the Bruins haven't been able to capture a win against the Boxers. Well, that ended tonight, as the Bruins were on fire scoring three of their four goals in the second half of play. The first half was filled with excitement as both teams tested each other's back lines. Scoring was opened up in the 18th minute when Emma Weme placed a perfect pass to Hannah Harder, who drilled one into the net to tally her first goal of the season. The Bruins went into the half up, 1-0.
It didn't take long for freshman sensation Savannah Moisan to make her mark, curving a well hit ball into the top corner of the net to give the Bruins a two goal lead. Becca Allen followed Moisan's goal 12 minutes later after Sarah Tuemmler passed a ball into the box that Allen scooped up and scooted pass Boxer' keeper Kililani Kunitomo to put the Bruins up, 3-0. The Bruins wouldn't stop, either, as possession was key and they had plenty of it. Allen found the back of the net in the 89 minute after she crushed one into the hands of Kunitomo, but fell out and rolled into the net. The Boxers wouldn't go down without a fight, though, scoring 30 seconds after that to put one up on the board.
Top Performers:
Allen recorded her first brace of the season, and she fired off four shots all being on goal. Weme led the team in assists with two, while Tuemmler recorded one. Ally Swanson played all 90 minutes for the Bruins in the net and she recorded nine saves.
What It Means:
George Fox improves to 3-1-1 on the season and opne conference play with a win. The last time the Bruins scored four goals in a game was back on October 10, 2012, against the Boxers in a 4-0 win. This is also the first time since 2007 the Bruins have won three games in a row.
What Comes Next:
The Bruins will travel up to Washington this weekend when they play Whitworth on the 19th and Whitman on the 20th.
