PORTLAND, Ore. --- George Fox University's women's volleyball team opened up conference play, Friday night, as the Bruins fell in a gut-wrenching match to the Pioneers of Lewis & Clark, 3-1.
Recap:
The Bruins jumped out to a great start in the first set, taking the Pioneers down 25-23. The Pioneers fired back in the second set and evened up the match after the win. The third set was daunting as both teams traded points back-and-forth early on, but the Pioneers were able to sneak away from the Bruins and take set three, 25-15. The fourth and final set had everything that you would want in a volleyball match. Both teams took leads and rallied for each point. In the end, though, the Pioneers were able to hold on and take the match in a four-set victory.
What Comes Next:
The Bruins fall to 3-5 on the season and 0-1 in conference play, but will have a chance to even up the conference record when they host Willamette Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
