WALLA WALLA, Wash. --- Kacie Morgan's third goal of the season came on Sunday, as the Bruins tied with Whitman College, 1-1 in double overtime.
Recap:
Both teams were unable to find the back of the net in the first half, as both teams traded possession with the ball. The Missionaries were able to get off seven shots, but only two were on target and Morgan Bars saved both attempts. In the second half, the Bruins continued to keep the Missionaries away from the net, but Whitman continued to fire off several shots. The Bruins traded places with the Missionaries and went on the offensive when Morgan found the back of the net in the 72nd minute to give the Bruins a 1-0 edge. As time started to come to an end, the Missionaries battled back and sent in the equalizer in the 88th minute to force an overtime. Both teams were unsuccessful in both OT's, as they each had to settle for a tie.
Top Performers:
Morgan was perfect on the day, scoring her third goal of the season off one shot. Both Hannah Harder and Kenna Meinhart recorded one shot on goal. Bars played all 110 minutes in the net for the Bruins and finished the match with seven saves.
What Comes Next:
The Bruins stand at 3-2-2 on the season and 1-1-1 in the Northwest Conference. They will stay on the road next week when they travel to Lewis & Clark on Saturday, September 26th at 12:00 p.m.
