Box Score CLAREMONT, Calif. --- The George Fox women's volleyball team closed out day one of the Pacific Coast Classic with a huge win over Colby-Sawyer, 3-1.
Recap:
The Bruins got after the Chargers early on in the match holding them to a .026 hitting percentage, while the Bruins hit a ferocious .375. George Fox took the first set, 25-14, and followed that up with a 25-22 second set victory. The Charges wouldn't go down without a fight, though, as they squeaked by in a 25-23 third set win. George Fox closed out the match in a dominating way, holding the Charges to a match-low 13 points (25-13).
Top Performers:
Freshman sensation Danyle Dupray led the Bruins with 15 kills, hitting .256 on the night. She also managed to record two service aces and 17 digs. Delaney Cruz was right behind Dupray with 12 kills, hitting .257. Erin Sprowls found the hardwood 11 times and hit .417.
What it Means:
The win means the Bruins earn their first victory in the season and now stand at 1-2. The win also gives the Bruins some momentum as they head into day two tomorrow afternoon. Colby-Sawyer picks up their third loss and fall to 1-3 on the season.
