Box Score 2 CLAREMONT, Calif. --- George Fox University's women's volleyball team closed out the Pacific Coast Classic Saturday afternoon with a pair of losses to Pomona-Pitzer and St. Mary's (Md.).
Recap:
Game 1
In the first game the Bruins took on host Pomona-Pitzer in a hard fought battle, where the Bruins fell 3-1. The Bruins got out to a hot start taking game one by a score of 25-14, but Pomona-PItzer would take the next three to drop the Bruins.
Game 2
George Fox got off to a similar start from its previous match against Pomona-Pitzer against St. Mary's taking the first set, 25-23. The next three sets followed some spectacular play, but St. Mary's would come out the other end taking the next three to close out the match, 3-1.
Top Performers:
Delaney Cruz continued to impress in the tournament, finishing out day two with a total of 19 kills to lead the Bruins. Freshman Danyle Dupray also played well, collecting 13 kills and 24 digs. Senior Payton Shrum added 59 total assists to her amazing career, and now sits at seventh on the All-Time list with 2,395 assists. She is now 287 assists away from sixth on the All-Time career leaderboard.

The Bruins come back home to host Warner Pacific next week on Thursday, September 10, at 7:00 p.m.
