Box Score SALEM, Ore. --- The George Fox women's volleyball team completed their Northwest Conference road trip Friday night, as the Bruins fell to the Bearcats of Willamette University, 3-0.
Recap:
Despite recording 11 kills to the Bearcats nine, the Bruins fell in the opening set by a close score of 25-18. The Bearcats led the entire first set, relying heavily on Alexa Dowdell, who led the match with a match-high 12 kills.
The Bearcats used the momentum from the first set well into the second, taking an early 14-7 lead. The Bearcats didn't look back with a 25-13 second set victory.
The Bruins were highly competitive in the final set of the match, recording a team match-high 14 kills, hitting .289. The Bearcats answered the Bruins with 17 kills of their own to sweep the match with a 25-20 third set victory.
Top Performers:
Sarah Davies led the way for the Bruins with eight kills, hitting .208. Kelsea Meyers led the team in digs with 12 and service aces with two.
What Comes Next:
The Bruins will enjoy a week of rest before they are back in action against Puget Sound for senior night on Nov. 4 at 7p.m.
