Box Score TACOMA, Wash. --- The George Fox women's volleyball team traveled up to Washington Friday night, as the Bruins played the Loggers of Puget Sound in a Northwest Conference match-up. The Loggers defeated the Bruins, 3-0.
Recap:
The Loggers took an early lead in the opening set at 16-9, but the Bruins battled back and came within one after going on a 9-3 run, 19-18. It was back and forth for the remainder of the set, but the Loggers squeaked away with a 25-21 win.
The second set was all Loggers, as the home team put together big runs to take a 19-7 advantage. Unforced errors hurt the Bruins in the second set, falling 25-11.
The Bruins looked poised for a comeback in the third set, taking an early 7-5 lead. That lead wouldn't hold, though, as 13 ties were recorded before the final point. Neither team led by more than one point midway through the set, as the Bruins looked to expand the match. The Loggers were able to rally late, using three-straight points to take the advantage at 24-22. A service ace ended the match, as the Loggers won, 25-22.
Top Performers:
Delaney Cruz led the Bruins with nine kills, while Erin Sprowls recorded six. Hannah Kumasaka led the Bruins with 15 assists.
What Comes Next:
The Bruins will come back home Saturday, where they will host Linfield at 5p.m.
