ORANGE, Calif. --- The No. 6/8-ranked George Fox women's basketball team hit the road on Saturday, as the Bruins beat the Panthers of Chapman University, 77-65.

Recap:
The Panthers caught the Bruins by surprise in the opening minutes, as the home team took an early 6-2 lead. Kimberly Frost evened up the score at the 5:12 mark at 6-6, but the Panthers answered with five straight points to go up, 11-6. Anjenae Torregano sparked some momentum off the bench for the Bruins, as the senior guard made back-to-back threes to give the Bruins a 12-11 advantage. The Bruins finished the quarter on a 12-0 run to take an 18-11 lead after 10 minutes of play.

George Fox continued its efforts in the second quarter, as the Bruins kept the Panthers at a friendly distance. In fact, the Bruins held the lead for the entire second quarter despite the Panthers trading baskets back and forth.

George Fox went into the break up by four, 33-29.

After the break, the game tightened up quite a bit, as both teams appeared to make some halftime adjustments. The Bruins held the advantage for most of the third quarter, but the score was tied six times. The Panthers threw everything they had at the Bruins, but the top-ranked team came away with a 49-47 edge at the end of three.

The fourth quarter was where the Bruins shined, as they out-scored the Panthers, 28-18. Kaycee Creech delivered the dagger with three minutes left, as the senior drained a three to put the Bruins up by 11, 69-58. George Fox finished the game on the free throw line, as the Panthers were forced to play catch up.

Top Performers:
Kaitlin Jamieson finished with a team-high and season-high 18 points, going 5-8 from the field and 8-10 from the free throw line. She also added eight rebounds in her 21 minutes of play. Creech and Emily Spencer both tallied 11 points. The 11 points from Spencer marked a new season-high for the freshman.

What It Means:
With the win, the Bruins improve to 4-0 on the season.

The Bruins complete their road trip against California Lutheran Monday, Nov. 28, at 4:30p.m.
