NEWBERG, Ore. --- The No. 13/15-ranked George Fox women's basketball team closed out its home schedule of the 2016 season, Thursday night, as the Bruins put the Flames of Bethesda University on the back burner in an 86-58 victory.

Recap:
The scoring came early and often in the opening quarter, as the Bruins stunned Bethesda with a 13-2 lead in the first five minutes. It was a pair of freshman that helped the Bruins take that lead after Emily Spencer and Haley Strowbridge knocked down a pair of threes early on.

Senior Kaycee Creech was the next player to contribute, scoring four straight points to put the Bruins up by 13, 17-4. George Fox ended the first quarter keeping the opposing team under double digits with a 26-8 advantage.

In the start of the second, the Bruins continued their hot pace, improving their lead to 22, 34-12, after Kaitlin Jamieson finished at the rim. The remainder of the second quarter was back and forth, but the Bruins out-scored the Flames, 26-14.

George Fox went into the break with a 30 point edge, 52-22.

The rest of the game was quite a bit slower than the start, as the Bruins rotated players in and out. The Bruins' bench was up for the challenge, though, scoring 45 points after all was said and done.

The Bruins finished the game shooting 47.8 percentage from the field and 36 percent from the 3-point line.

Top Performers:
Jamieson led the Bruins on the night with 13 points, going 6-9 from the field with seven rebounds and two blocks. Creech was the only other Bruin in double figures with 10 points on a perfect 4-4 from the field and 1-1 from beyond the arc.

What It Means:
With the win, the Bruins improve to 8-1 on the season. The win also marked the Bruins fourth straight game of 80 plus points.

What Comes Next:
George Fox will close out the 2016 season on the road, as the Bruins travel to San Antonio, Texas, to compete against Trinity (Dec. 29) and Southwestern (Dec. 30). Links to those games can be found here.
