Bruins Sweep Loggers, 9-0

VANCOUVER, Wash. --- For the second straight time this season, the George Fox men's tennis team swept a Northwest Conference opponent, as the Bruins beat the Loggers of Puget Sound, 9-0.

Recap:
The Bruins made quick work of the Loggers in doubles, as Spencer Watanabe and Chris Lilley posted an 8-2 victory at No. 1 over Riley Inn and Chris Severt. Nicholas Grafton and Vincent Viloria played a tough match at No. 2, but came away with an 8-3 win. At No. 3, Mitchell Miyashiro and Nick Ekern won with an 8-4 victory over Chet Selis and Jacob Kompolt.

With a clean sweep in doubles, the Bruins continued the momentum in singles not dropping a single point. Watanabe won at No. 1 with a 6-2, 6-1 showing, and Lilley boasted a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2. Both Viloria and Miyashiro won in straight sets, while Grafton battled hard to keep the Bruins hopes alive for the clean sweep. After dropping the first set 6-2, Grafton rallied with a 6-1, 6-1 victory to win in three.

What It Means:
With the win, the Bruins improve to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the Northwest Conference.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins will head to California for their next matches, as they play Carnegie Mellon and Wabash on March 10.
