NEWBERG, Ore. --- After coming off a tough match on Friday night against Lewis & Clark, the George Fox men's tennis team bounced back with a 9-0 victory over the Bearcats of Willamette on Saturday.

The Bruins were in full swing in doubles, and Spencer Watanabe and Chris Lilley got things started with an 8-2 win at the No. 1 spot. Tristen Lerma and Vincent Viloria won at the No. 3 spot, 8-1, while Nicholas Grafton and Mitchell Miyashiro won at No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
With the 3-0 lead headed into singles, the Bruins won all but one match in straight sets. Nicholas Grafton battled hard at the No. 2 spot, beating Aaron Schechter 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) in the tiebreaker. Lilley showed his dominance at the No. 1 spot with a 6-2, 6-0 win. Tristen Lerma also had a nice match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Jesse Mackinney at the No. 6 spot.
What It Means:
The Bruins improve to 6-9 on the season and 4-5 in the NWC.
What Comes Next:
The Bruins will play on Sunday up in Washington against Puget Sound at 1:30 p.m. That will mark their third match in three straight days.
