FOREST GROVE, Ore. --- The George Fox men's basketball team took on the Boxers of Pacific on the road Saturday, winning the conference matchup, 67-65.

Recap:
The Bruins opened the game shooting hot as Mason Green-Richards and Johnathan Doutt came off the bench and connected from deep, giving the team an 11-9 lead in the first five minutes.

It was the three-point shooting of the Bruins that stood out in the first half as the team managed to hit 42% of their deep-balls.

J.J. Lacey exploded for 10 points down the final stretch of the half to cut the Boxer lead to just three heading into the break.

Thomas Rico connected from deep in the first 10 seconds of the second half to tie the game at 35, but the Boxer offense went on a run to give the home team the advantage.

Willie Perkins had six of his nine points come in clutch time to set up Johnathan Doutt for a go-ahead three with 1:32 left on the clock. The Bruin defense was able to stop the opposition from scoring, earning a win that showcased mental toughness, 67-65.

Top Performers:
Lacey continued his offensive assault on the Northwest Conference with 19 points on an effective 6-11 from the field. Green-Richards caught fire off the bench in this one, tallying 14 points while shooting 50% from the field and 50% from deep.

What It Means:
The Bruins earn their second win in a row and move to 6-4 in conference.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins travel to Lewis & Clark on Tuesday for a conference matchup set for 8:00pm.
