PORTLAND, Ore. --- The No. 25-ranked George Fox women's basketball team was pushed to overtime Tuesday night, hanging on to defeat the Lewis and Clark Pioneers by one, 69-68.

Recap:
Tavin Headings began the first quarter red-hot, going 3-3 from behind the arc for nine of her 16 points on the night. All 16 of her points came in the first half. The Bruins also got six first quarter points from Kaitlin Jamieson. Despite early efficiency from both Headings and Jamieson, the Bruins traded buckets with the Pioneers for the better part of the first quarter.

A layup from Kimberly Frost capped off a 7-0 Bruin run to end the quarter, giving the Bruins a 19-12 lead.

The Bruins' defense clamped down in the second quarter, holding Lewis and Clark to 10 points. Hailey Hartney came off the bench to add four points in the quarter while Headings added two more threes.

Bailey McDevitt's layup and free throw in the final seconds gave the Bruins a 39-22 lead going into the half.

In the third quarter, the Bruins maintained their lead despite Lewis and Clark cutting the deficit to single digits with a minute left. Kaycee Creech found a groove, scoring eight points in the quarter. Two McDevitt free throws helped extend the Bruin lead to 56-45 with one quarter left to play.

Lewis and Clark's defense took a stand in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Bruins 9-4 in the first eight minutes. Kylin Collman made two free throws to end the Bruins three minute scoreless drought, but two quick Pioneer baskets forced a George Fox timeout with the lead down to just four.

With 22 seconds left, Lewis and Clark's Sara Hogman made a layup to complete the comeback and tie the game at 62-62 and force overtime.

The Pioneers struck first in overtime, but the Bruins kept pace. Tied at 68-68 with three seconds left, Creech went to line and made one of two free throws to give the Bruins a one point lead.

Lewis and Clark's final three point attempt was off the mark, and the Bruins escaped with the 69-68 road victory.
