NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's soccer team hosted the Loggers of Puget Sound Sunday afternoon, losing the tough conference matchup, 1-0.
Recap:
Leanna Harris of the Bruins had an early shot on-goal in just the sixth minute of play that was followed up by another shot on-goal by Puka Ahina in the 15th minute.
The Bruins held the Loggers scoreless in the first half while registering three shots, all of which were on-frame.
George Fox had a chance to score in the 62nd minute as the Bruins rattled off three quick shots that were narrowly blocked and then finally saved as the score remained tied.
The Loggers managed to find the back of the net in the 72nd minute, setting the score at 1-0.
The Bruins had an attempt at an equalizer in the 82nd minute but were unable to strike gold, losing the close one, 1-0.
Top Performers:
Michala Denn, Jayli Miyamoto, Allie Day and Brittany Bravo paced the Bruin offense with two shots apiece.
What It Means:
The Bruins move to 6-5-2 overall and 4-4-2 in conference play.
