ORANGE, Calif. --- The No. 23 George Fox women's basketball team took to the road Thursday to face Whittier in a nonconference matchup in California, taking the solid win, 60-39.
Recap:
The trio of Haylee Hutzler, Hailey Hartney and Madison Hull proved unstoppable through the opening period of play, combining for all 17 of the Bruins' first-quarter points.
Hutzler opened the second quarter up with a deep ball, giving the Bruins a 19-13 lead. The team was able to keep the offense clicking from there, rattling off an additional 10 points while holding Whittier to just six.
George Fox held a solid lead at halftime, 29-19.
Kaitlin Jamieson opened up the second half with a vengeance, hitting three quick shots around the rim to widen the gap. After holding Whittier to just seven points in the third quarter, the Bruins held a dominant 22-point lead.
Whittier opened the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run, but Hutzler proved to be too much, taking a foul beyond the arc and knocking down all three shots from the charity stripe as well as hitting yet another long-range bomb.
The Bruins earned a solid win on the road, 60-39.
Top Performers:
Hutzler exploded in this one, going for 14 points on 3-4 shooting from deep. Jamieson did a little of everything tonight, racking up eight points, 12 rebounds and a whopping six blocks.
What It Means:
The Bruins move to 7-2 overall after tonight's win.

The Bruins remain in California to take on Chapman Friday, Dec. 22 at 7:00pm.
