TACOMA, Wash. --- The George Fox men's tennis team kicked off Northwest Conference play Saturday, as the Bruins cruised by the Loggers of Puget Sound, 9-0.

The Bruins flexed their muscles early on, taking down all three doubles to enter singles with a 3-0 lead. The Bruins started five freshman in the lineup with Matt Biggi at No. 2 singles, Alex Namba at No. 3 singles, Ryan Malinowski at No. 4 singles, Davin Lee at No. 5 singles and Jacob Farmer at No. 6 singles. All five freshman recorded their first collegiate wins in NWC play. Spencer Watanabe also showed his power at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 straight set victory.
