Bruins Complete Weekend Sweep With Win Over Linfield

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. --- The George Fox men's tennis team completed the weekend sweep of the Northwest Conference, as the Bruins beat the 'Cats of Linfield College, 6-3, Sunday afternoon.

Recap:
The Bruins opened up the match picking up three huge points, as they swept all three matches in doubles. The most dominant match was at No. 2 doubles, as Ryan Malinowski and Davin Lee defeated Trent Prussing and Nathan Saragoza, 8-1.

Things got interesting after the 3-0 start, as the 'Cats weren't going to go down without a fight. Spencer Watanabe continued his strong play at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Tyler Linscott. Alex Namaba clinched the match for the Bruins at No. 3 singles. Namba trailed early as he fell in the first set, 6-4, but marched back for a 6-0, 6-3 decisive three set victory. Ryan Malinowski also had a long match of three sets, taking the victory with a 6-2, 6-7, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.

What It Means:
The Bruins are now 3-2 on the season and 3-0 in the NWC.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins will hit the road taking on Willamette Saturday, Feb. 25, and Lewis & Clark Sunday, Feb. 26, with both matches at 11a.m.
