NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's soccer team put on a display of dominance at home Sunday, beating Whitman 4-0.
Recap:
It was all George Fox early as the team strung together six shots – one of which hit crossbar – in just the opening 20 minutes of play.
It was in the 35th minute that the Bruins managed to find the back of the net as sophomore defender Madison Huesers took a cross from Kayla Caldeira that ended up in the right corner of the net, 1-0.
The Bruins held Whitman to just two shots in the opening 45.
It didn't take long for George Fox to strike again, this time coming on a set piece in the 49th minute. Allie Day took a beautiful corner kick that sent the ball into the box to Caldeira, who managed to rise up and score with a header, putting the Bruins up 2-0.
The Bruin offense hounded on the Whitman defense, rattling off five shots in just over two minutes of play right after their last goal.
Another goal for the Bruins came in the 61st minute of play on another set piece. Day again took the corner, although this time the ball bounced off a Whitman defender and into the waiting foot of Abby Anderson, scoring her second goal of the season and putting the Bruins up by three.
The Bruins scored a fourth goal in the 89th minute as sophomore midfielder Brittany Bravo beat her defender on the backline and sent the ball into the net from the left side.
The Bruins held Whitman to just three shots in the game to their 23 as they won, 4-0.
Top Performers:
A slew of Bruins contributed to what was an outstanding offensive performance. Huesers, Caldeira, Anderson and Bravo tallied the four goals for the Bruins. Caldeira also led with five shots and Puka Ahina contributed three of her own to round out the effort.
What It Means:
The Bruins move to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

The Bruins host conference opponent Linfield on Saturday at 11:00am.
