NEWBERG, Ore. --- The No. 21-ranked George Fox women's basketball team hosted Willamette in a Northwest Conference matchup Friday night, taking an easy win, 81-50.
Recap:
The Bruins came out swinging, going on an 8-2 run in the opening minutes on the back of a balanced scoring effort. Thanks to eight first-quarter points from Kaitlin Jamieson, George Fox held a 22-14 lead at the end of the quarter.
Jamieson kept on the gas pedal in the second quarter, rattling off a pair of layups to solidify the lead.
The Bruin offense was clicking throughout the first half as they held a solid 41-26 lead at the break.
A deep ball by Tavin Headings pushed the lead to 20 with seven minutes left in the third quarter. The offense was firing on all cylinders as almost every Bruin on the court was able to contribute, leading to a huge 59-34 lead heading into the final quarter of play.
Emily Spencer rattled off four quick points at the beginning of the fourth to keep the momentum on the side of the home team. Haylee Hutzler took the torch from there, hitting a pair of free throws and a deep ball to all but seal the deal for the Bruins.
Top Performers:
Jamieson led the team in scoring with 16, shooting an almost perfect 7-8 from the field and grabbed five rebounds. Spencer got it done tonight as well, tallying 10 points to go along with four assists. Tavin Headings finished with nine points and six rebounds, while Haylee Hutzler added eight points and dished out four assists.
What It Means:
The Bruins move to 15-3 on the season and 8-1 in conference play after tonight's win.

The Bruins host Linfield Saturday, Jan. 27, in a conference rivalry game set for 4:00 pm.
