NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's basketball team hosted Puget Sound in a Northwest Conference matchup Friday night, taking a solid win at home, 82-57.
Recap:
The game opened up neck-in-neck as both teams struggled to take an early lead. A late first quarter surge led by Kylin Collman secured a comfortable lead for the Bruins, 20-13.
George Fox kept its foot on the gas pedal to start the second, opening with an 8-2 run. The Bruins continued to play good offense while holding the Loggers to just 12 points.
The Bruins held a 41-25 lead at the end of the first half.
The home team kept it going in the third quarter, managing to outscore the Loggers 20-12 in the period on the back of a balanced scoring effort.
The fourth quarter was much more competitive as Puget Sound struggled to narrow the deficit. The bench duo of Emily Holder and Matney Jamieson came in clutch for the Bruins, combining for 13 of the team's 21 total points in the period.
The Bruins took this one easily, 82-57.
Top Performers:
Madison Hull paced the team in scoring with a career-high 13 points, while Kaitlin Jamieson and Holder tallied 11 apiece. Collman was the fourth Bruin in double figures with 10 of her own.
What It Means:
The Bruins take their eighth straight win, moving to 10-2 overall and a perfect 3-0 in conference play.
