OAHU --- The No. 9-ranked George Fox women's basketball team went wire-to-wire with the Poets of Whittier College Tuesday evening, winning the matchup, 60-58.

Today's game marked the first of four at the Street Shine Invitational, as George Fox, Whittier, Chapman, and Puget Sound all made the trip. Due to limited staff and multiple tournaments in the area statistics will be made known at a later date. 

Neither team led by more than six points throughout all four quarters. The Bruins entered the fourth quarter down, 55-53, but rallied in the fourth, outscoring the Poets, 17-13, to secure the two-point victory. 

Haylee Hutzler led the Bruins with a team-high 14 points, while Tavin Headings was dangerous from beyond the arc with four threes for 12 points. Matney Jamieson was the final Bruin in double figures with 10.

The Bruins will play their final game of the Street Shine Invitational against Chapman on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 5 pm. (PST)
