NEWBERG --- The George Fox men's tennis team fell to No. 11-ranked Whitman Blues Saturday in a 7-2 match.

Spencer Watanabe and William Leach came to play at No. 1 doubles. The pair went on to take down Zach Hewlin and Trevor Fennessy, 8-1, to give the Bruins' their first point. The Blues bounced back and won the next two points at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
After falling 2-1 in doubles, three-time All-American Watanabe stepped up in singles play. The senior put on a show in front of the home crowd, winning over Hewlin at No. 1, 7-5, 6-3. Leach had a tough match at the No. 2 spot in singles. The freshman managed to take the first set 6-4, but fell soon after in 6-2, 6-3 score.
