BEAVERTON --- The No. 34-ranked George Fox men's tennis team flexed its newly ranked muscles Saturday, as the Bruins swept Austin College, 9-0, in a nonconference match.

This marks the fourth time this season the Bruins have beat an opponent by a perfect 9-0 score.
The Bruins hot start came from doubles action, as Spencer Watanabe and William Leach teamed up for their usual spot at No. 1 doubles. The pair won easily, 8-2, while Alex Namba and Payton Namba kept the ball rolling with an 8-6 win at the No. 2 spot. Jonah Wafula and Justin Barton also had a fantastic match at the No. 3 spot with an 8-6 victory.
With the perfect 3-0 lead heading into singles, the Bruins kept their foot on the gas. Watanabe won his match at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1, while William Leach posted a 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot. A. Namba picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 3 spot and brother P. Namba won his match at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Keaten Baker was perfect on his day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 5 spot. Wafula ended his day with his second point, taking down the No. 6 spot with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

The No. 34 Bruins are now 7-1 on the season.
