CLAREMONT --- The No. 34-ranked George Fox men's tennis team had its hands full Saturday, as the Bruins dropped a tough 8-1 match to No. 3-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

The 15-2 Stags were in their traditional form in Saturday's match, as the top-ranked home team showed just why they have that top ranking. Despite the match score of 8-1, the Bruins did well to keep the match close in individual matches. Spencer Watanabe and Will Leach provided an excellent match at No. 1 doubles against Julian Gordy and Nikolai Parodi. The Gordy/Parodi pair of CMS is currently ranked at No. 8. The tandem of Watanabe and Leach gave the Bruins their lone point with a tough 8-6 victory.
The Stags came away with a 2-1 lead after doubles action.
The home team was perfect in singles play, as they won all six matches.
What It Means:
With the loss, the Bruins are now 9-3 on the season.
