NEWBERG --- The No. 15-ranked George Fox women's basketball team got back on track against Northwest Conference rival Linfield on Tuesday, routing the Wildcats on home court, 95-61.

Recap:

The teams traded buckets to open it up, but Tavin Headings caught fire around the middle of the opening frame to push George Fox ahead. She hit a pair of shots from deep as well as a midrange pull-up to spark the Bruins to an 8-0 run. They led 14-9 with just under five minutes remaining in the first.

The Wildcats rallied back to keep the game competitive, but the Bruins managed to retain a narrow 20-19 lead at the end of the quarter on the back of eight points from Headings and six from Emily Spencer.

Linfield had no answer for the hot hand of Headings. She came out swinging, scoring the Bruins' first seven points of the second quarter.

The high-powered George Fox offense was unstoppable through the remainder of the half. The trio of Headings, Emily Holder, and Haley Strowbridge turned in a tremendous effort, scoring 22 of the Bruins' 27 points in the second period. The defense was locked in as well, holding the Wildcats to just ten points as the home team stormed way into the lead.

The score was set at 47-29 heading into the halftime break.

For every bucket the Wildcats made in the third quarter, the Bruins had an answer. A host of players contributed, highlighted by five points in under thirty seconds from Kylin Collman around the three-minute mark.

The home team entered the final quarter with a commanding 69-46 lead.

George Fox kept on the gas pedal in the fourth, exploiting the porous Wildcat defense. They rattled off a 13-0 run to take an 89-53 lead, a lead from which Linfield would be unable to recover as the Bruins got it done on home court.

The scoreboard read 95-61 as the clock ran out.
