Box Score NEWBERG --- The George Fox women's volleyball team welcomed the Lewis & Clark Pioneers to Wheeler Sports Center on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Bruins set the tone early and cruised to a 3-0 sweep for their seventh consecutive Northwest Conference win.

George Fox built an early lead in set one with kills from Bailey LeBreton, Ashtyn Butler, and Liv Alexander establish a rhythm from the start. The Pioneers answered with a run to try and stay in the set, but the Bruins' middles combined for eight kills to put away the opener with a 27-25 final after the Pios forced extra rallies.
The second stanza started with a 7-3 Bruin lead after early kills from Butler and Aryah Zeller. Paige O'Rear joined the party midway through the set and the Bruins cruised to a 25-22 win in set two after holding off a late Pioneer rally effort.
The Pioneers took their first lead of the night to open set three with a flip of the script, but after an early dogfight the Bruins were able to break a 13-13 tie with an O'Rear cannon shot. The Bruins never trailed from that point on and pushed through to end the night with a 25-20 final in set three for the sweep.
Top Performers
O'Rear led the Bruins with 12 kills at the pin and added seven digs, while the Bruin middles, Butler and LeBreton, added 10 kills each. Sophia Lawrence tallied a match-high 19 digs and tied for the team lead in service aces with two, matching Annika Johnson and O'Rear. Laney Search registered a match-high 42 assists, nine digs, a block, a kill, and an ace in one of her best games of the season.
What It Means
The Bruins are now 8-5 in NWC play with three matches left on the season slate and pull even at 11-11 overall.

The Bruins travel to face Puget Sound to close out the season series on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 6:00 pm.
