TACOMA --- The George Fox Bruins were blanked on the road against the Puget Sound Loggers by a final of 1-0.
Recap
Right from the kick-off, Puget Sound hounded the ball and made quick work offensively, creating multiple early looks and corner kicks before the 10", but stellar Bruin defense pushed the attempts off-frame. Maggee Hodgdon and Kara Ryker were given opportunities in the 33" and 37", but neither scored. The half ended with a flurry of shot attempts taken by Puget Sound, but goalkeeper Brooke Jones made four saves to keep the Loggers off the board.
Puget Sound opened the second half right were they left off with more shot attempts. Jones was again put to the test, but a great save from Jones ended with an unfortunate rebound that Genevieve Cheatham put in, giving the Loggers a 1-0 lead.
George Fox didn't give up and made a solid push down field in the 60" minute that lead to Hodgdon almost putting in a header in the 63", but it missed high over the crossbar.
The rest of the game was under Puget Sound control. Their defense shined, only allowing five total shots and guaranteed the 1-0 victory.
