NEWBERG --- After missing the NCAA Regionals by one game in the 2018 season, the George Fox baseball team is hungry and excited to take on the new challenges 2019 will have to offer.
The Bruins bring back a lot of depth and experience to 2019, as head coach Marty Hunter has 19 upperclassmen and 18 underclassmen on his 2019 roster. Matt Voelzke, Sam Swenson, Kyler Brudwick and Jerred Seamons lead the returners as All-Northwest Conference selections. To go along with those four outstanding players, the Bruins also return Colby Watilo, Derek Johnson and Jantzen Tamanaha to the lineup.
Coach Hunter's team won't be just strong offensively either, as Zach Stouder, Cameron Jack, Isaac Olson and junior transfer Christopher Stone will be the leading arms for the Bruins.
The Bruins kick off their 2019 campaign on the road, playing four games in Arizona from Feb. 8-10 and three games in Georgia from Feb. 15-17. The Bruins first home game in the newly finished baseball stadium will be against Puget Sound on March 2-3.
