Four Bruins Score in Win Over Lewis & Clark

PORTLAND --- The George Fox Women's Soccer team posted a resounding 4-1 road victory over the Lewis & Clark Pioneers in Wednesday evening's Northwest Conference matchup.

How It Happened

Four different Bruins found the back of the net on their way to a season-high seven points after recording assists on three of the goals.

Junior Madison Burch opened the scoring in the 36th minute with her first goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Willa Evans. Evans would go on to score the fourth and final goal of the night on a penalty kick in the 67th minute.

Less than three minutes later, two of the three "Maggies" were in full force as junior Maggie Choate closed first-half action with a goal of her own, assisted by senior Maggee Hodgdon. Evans and Choate have now scored in both four-goal victories over Lewis & Clark this fall.

Freshman Taylor Ho scored her fourth goal of the season in the 59th minute off an assist from junior Katlyn Martinez. Ho now shares the team's top-scoring position with junior transfer Maggie Phillips.

George Fox dominated from start to finish, boasting wide advantages in shots (13-3) and shots-on-goal (11-1) while barely edging the Pios in corner kicks (2-1).

Top Performers

This evening's four different goal scorers are a season-high for the Bruins, with Ho (4), Evans (2), and Choate (2) all ranking in the top five on the scoring leaderboard this fall.

The Bruins are now averaging a conference-leading 17.33 shots per game, placing an average of 9.08 on goal per game.

Martinez, along with Daria Brandt leading the backline, anchored the team through all 90 minutes of regulation.

Sara Thudium's 80-minute effort in goal marked her seventh outing of the season, keeping the Pios off the scoreboard until the 79th minute. The freshman has allowed just three goals in her 640 minutes played this fall.
