Box Score WALLA WALLA, Wash. --- George Fox men's basketball got another 40 minutes of live game experience on the road on Saturday, Mar. 13, in a 91-72 defeat on Saturday, Mar. 13.
How It Happened
George Fox fought well in the opening half and kept it close, matching the Blues bucket for bucket in the first 20 minutes of play. A Ryan Lacey triple and a quick layup from Kalu Stricklin gave the Bruins a 24-14 lead midway through the first half, but the Blues were able to respond and took a 38-37 lead into the locker room.
After the break, the Bruins were able to tie it at 38-all with a Striklin foul shot, but the Blues began to pull away from that point on. The George Fox athletes' effort never was in question, but the Blues' practice, play, and conditioning advantages were apparent in the second half as they built and held a lead until the final whistle.
Top Performers
Ryan Lacey led all scorers with 23 points and also tallied a team-high nine rebounds to lead the Bruins. Jackson Januik, Charlie Powers, and Kalu Stricklin chipped in nine points apiece to help their tally.
What It Means
The Bruins fall to 0-4 on the year but the in-game conditioning and court experience from these games continues to pay dividends for player development in this COVID-altered season.
