Box Score WALLA WALLA, Wash. --- The George Fox women's basketball program traveled to face the Whitman Blues on Sunday, Mar. 14, in its second official game of the season and fell 74-55.
How It Happened
The Bruins played the Blues tough throughout the first half and were able to match their hosts almost bucket for bucket in the opening 20 minutes. George Fox only trailed 11-14 after the first quarter and were still within 10 at the half with a 36-29 tally at the break.
The Blues' conditioning and second-half adjustments gave them the edge to break the game open in the third quarter as they outscored George Fox 25-12 in the third stanza. The Bruins were able to edge their hosts, 14-13, in the final quarter, but the rally came too late and fell short.
Top Performers
Rachel Parks led the Bruins in points (13) on 5-for-9 shooting and notched team highs in rebounds (6) and steals (3) as well. Ella Roberts put in eight points off the bench on a perfect shooting performance.
What It Means
The Bruins drop to 0-2 overall while the Blues wrap their abbreviated season at 9-1.
