NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox men's tennis team picked up its second win of the 2021 season after sweeping Puget Sound, 9-0, on their home court.

How It Happened

The Bruins picked up their second straight sweeping win over a Northwest Conference opponent after dropping the Loggers.

Will Leach and Luke Lemaitre won 8-0 to claim the first flight, and Alle Banna paired with Hunter Fujimori to win the second flight 8-1. Camden Camacho and Vahag Pashayan won the third flight 8-2 to finish the sweep of doubles.

Leach won his first flight of singles, 6-0, 6-2, and Lemaitre swept 6-0, 6-0 at the second spot in singles. Pashayan won 6-1, 6-0 at the third flight and Banna claimed the fourth flight, 6-4, 6-0. Fujimori swept the no. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0 and Camacho completed the team sweep with a 6-2, 6-0 win in the sixth flight of singles.

Their Thoughts

"We took care of business today," said head coach Jeff Cero after the match. "Our energy level was pretty timid during doubles, but we picked it up in singles."
