Box Score McMINNVILLE, Ore. --- The George Fox volleyball team traveled to wrap up its weekend home-and-away slate against the Linfield Wildcats and swept the night and the weekend with a 3-0 road win.
How It Happened
The Bruins used 11 kills and a stellar defensive performance to set a tone for the night with a 25-13 opening salvo in the first stanza, holding the Wildcats to a -.029 attack rate to start.
The second set went off in a similar fashion with a 25-11 win and a -.071 attack rate for the 'Cats, while the Bruins' hitters found the floor 10 times for a .233 attack percentage in the second set.
The nightcap followed in the third set with a 25-13 final as the Bruins hit .324 to the Wildcats' .000 in the frame, limiting their hosts to a -.030 attack rate on the night. Much of the Bruins' success came at the net with 15 blocks as a team, throwing their hosts off-kilter all night on the attack and keeping Linfield out of system.
Top Performers
Laney Search tallied a match-high 26 dimes and also led the way with 15 digs. Bailey LeBreton threw herself a block party with six solo stuffs and two more block assists for a total of eight on the night. LeBreton and Paige O'Rear topped the squad with nine kills apiece.
Their Thoughts
"We had an awesome blocking night," coach Emily Davis said after the win. To play a team twice in a row is not easy so it was great to get walk away with two wins."
What It Means
The Bruins level off at 3-3 overall and are 3-2 in NWC action while the Wildcats' slump continues to 0-6 overall and in conference.

George Fox will take on Lewis & Clark on Thursday, Apr. 1, in Portland.
