Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. --- George Fox notched another conference win on Thursday, Apr. 1, on the Pioneers' home court after sweeping their hosts 3-0.
How It Happened
The Bruins got off to a great start with a 25-16 win in the first set. George Fox forced six attack errors and held Lewis & Clark to just .097 on the attack to cruise to win, aided by four first-set kills for Bailey LeBreton and some nasty serves by Piper Harrop to keep the Pioneers out of system.
The second set was the Bruins' best of the night as they made only one error in 30 swings and hit .400 as a team in a 25-13 win. George Fox scored in bunches and sided out well, building a 21-9 lead swiftly and closed it out with kills at both pins for the 25-13 win.
The Pioneers did their best to stave off the sweep in the third frame and hung with George Fox point for point in the middle of the set, but the Bruins' momentum carried them through to the end. After George Fox built a 9-3 lead with Harrop serving, the Pioneers erased the Bruins' advantage and forced the Bruins to lock in and execute. A late Pioneer run fell short, however, after Kassandra Staton and Ashtyn Butler were able to block an attack at the net to clinch the win, 25-23, in set three.
