Box Score WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The George Fox volleyball team finished off its weekend road trip to Washington with a three-set sweep over NWC foe Whitman in Walla Walla.
How it Happened
The Bruins scratched out close-set victories in the first two games of the match before pulling away from the Blues in the third game to take the victory by scores of 25-22, 26-24, 25-15.
George Fox entered the matchup coming off of a loss at Whitworth and had no intention of letting the Pirates beat them twice. The Bruins took the first set in a closely contested 25-22 battle.
Whitman took George Fox to the wire in the second set, knotting the score up at 24-24 before the Bruins won back-to-back serves by Kennedy Kibby to go up 2-0. GFU came out firing in the third set, amassing a 12-1 lead and never giving Whitman a chance to come back in the match to claim the final set 25-15.
Top Performers
Bailey LeBreton had nine kills, contributed 12 total points, and a game-high three blocks, turning in a standout performance on the road to power the Bruins to a win.
Coach's Thoughts
"Whitman came into tonight prepared, and we needed everything we had to pull out those first two sets," said head coach Emily Davis. "I'm proud of our team for adjusting within the match, but we have work to do when we get home."
What it Means
The Bruins are 5-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play as the brunt of the NWC schedule begins to heat up.

George Fox will hit the road once more as they visit Lewis & Clark in Portland next Friday, Sept. 24.
