ROME, Ga. -- After successful showings at the ITA Northwest Regional Championship two weeks prior,
Rox Rogers and
Lars Schmassmann represented the George Fox Men's Tennis team on day one of the ITA Cup, hosted by Berry College at the Rome Tennis Center on Thursday.
How It Happened — Thursday
Both men's singles and doubles took place on Thursday, with Rogers competing in the singles events. Rogers drew Abhi Ramireddy from Washington University, losing in two sets to the junior from Missouri.
After losing the first, Rogers won a thrilling second set against Michale Melnikov of Swarthmore College, winning the tiebreak game 7-5. Melnikov responded, though, winning the final set 6-3.
On the doubles side, both Rogers and Schmassmann teamed up against Matthew Robinson and Christian Settles from Claremont Mudd-Scripps, but were forced to withdraw due to Rogers injury midway through the match.

How It Happened — Friday
Lingering pain kept Rogers out of his singles match on Friday morning, but he returned to action with his doubles partner later that afternoon. Rogers and Schmassmann took on Aiden Drover-Mattinen and Andy Zhu of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, losing in two sets. A
