REDLANDS, Calif. - The George Fox men's basketball team ended their two game California road trip competing against the University of Redlands. Despite having four of their five starters in double digits and shooting 55% from the field, the Bruins were unable to hold off the Bulldogs.
How It Happened
George Fox and Redlands were back and forth for much of the first half, with the Bruins taking a six-point lead seven minutes into the game. However, Redlands closed out the first half up by ten. The Bruins were out-rebounded in the half, giving up 14 second-chance points, however, they went into halftime shooting nearly 46% from three and nearly 59% from the field.
The Bruins were down twelve in the early parts of the second half, but they went on a 16-5 run, behind great offense from Momo Stokes and Adam Damian. The Bruins found themselves in the lead with 15 minutes left to go in the second half. The Bulldogs put together a great run, going up by as much as 20 points. The Bruins clawed their way back but ended up falling short 84-95.
Top Performances
Austin Clark led George Fox in scoring with 22 points on five made three-pointers. Adam Damian had what might be his best shooting performance of the year so far, with three treys and 12 points. Momo Stokes chipped in with 18 points on 8-14 shooting and Davon Walker dished out 8 assists.
What It Means
The Bruins drop to 1-5 on the season heading into conference play. Redlands improved to 4-1.
What Comes Next
The Bruins come back to Oregon to take on the Linfield Wildcats in McMinnville on Dec. 2 at 8 pm.
