PORTLAND --- George Fox men's basketball fought hard and kept it close in the first half, but the shots wouldn't fall in the second half and the Bruins dropped the game to Lewis & Clark by a final of 82-59.
How It Happened
The Bruins battled well in the first half and were able to match the Pioneers shot for shot in the first 20 minutes of play. A quick 7-3 burst gave the Bruins a 17-15 lead with just under eight minutes to play, and at the break Fox trailed by one, 31-30, after the Pios converted an and-one opportunity to grab the lead as time expired.
That momentum shift carried over to the second half and the Bruins struggled to get their shots to fall in the second half. After a pair of free throws cut the Pios' lead to three with three minutes gone by in the half, L&C ripped off a 16-6 run that put the game out of reach for good. The Pios kept their foot on the gas pedal the rest of the way to keep their lead intact for the win.
