PORTLAND --- The George Fox women's basketball team held a commanding lead at the half, but a cold streak in the second half allowed Lewis & Clark to rally back for a 58-53 victory in regulation.
How It Happened
The Bruins jumped out to an early 11-3 lead and set the tone by the midpoint of the first quarter for the first half. By opening shot of the second quarter, Fox had built a 12-point lead and opened up a 20-point lead with a minute left in the first half on a fast-break layup.
The second half was a different script, however, and the Bruins only hit on six of their 31 shots in the last 20 minutes of action. The Pios outscored Fox in the third and fourth quarters by double-digits to earn a five-point win in regulation on their home court to split the season series.
Top Performances
Ella Roberts led with 14 points and scored 10 of those by halftime, while Erin Yoshitake was just off that pace with 13 herself. Rachel Parks grabbed a team-high six boards.
