FOREST GROVE, Ore. --- Despite struggling overall at the plate, the George Fox softball team battled back from behind twice to earn two wins against the Boxers of Pacific. Fox hit just .203 as a team during the two night games, but some big swings and patient at-bats were enough to get two from the Boxers on Friday, Mar. 11.
Game One
Fox put Emma Eastman in the circle to start game one and got one and two thirds from the sophomore. Elise Wilkinson worked the next two and a third without allowing a run, and Ashley Davis worked three innings while striking out five to earn the win.
The Boxers got on the board first with four runs in the second inning and Fox had to battle back from two early errors to steal the game late from their hosts with three big swings. Sharon Tomei lifted a solo shot out of the park in the park in the fourth, and Kimberly Pulido drove a two-run shot out in the fifth to cut into the deficit.
Another Boxer run in the 6th made it a 5-3 ballgame, but a Boxer error plated Kamryn Potter in the seventh and Tomei drove another two run shot out in left center for the final 6-5 score and a Bruin victory.
Game Two
