HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- George Fox women's tennis took on No. 33 UW-Whitewater on Sunday, Mar. 20, and took two points off the Warhawks in a 7-2 defeat.
How It Happened
The Bruins earned one of their two match points in doubles play after Ellie Mangan and Abigail Bond paired to win, 8-5, on court three. Cassey Hitch and Kalli Wiker weren't able to notch a win but they were very competitive on court two in an 8-7 defeat.
In singles, Olivia Morris came away a winner in her matchup against the Warhawks' no. 5 player in a 6-0, 6-4 final. Hitch, Danielle Brown, and Emily McDonald each finished with 1-6, 2-6 losses, and Wiker was able to battle to a 2-6, 3-6 final on court three.
What It Means
Fox falls to 8-6 overall after the loss to the No. 33 Warhawks, while UW-Whitewater improves to 13-2 on the year.
