NEWBERG, Ore. --- George Fox women's tennis continued its momentum from its spring break trip with a 6-3 win at home over Lewis & Clark on Saturday, Apr. 2.
How It Happened
The Bruins got two of the three doubles points for a strong start to the morning matchup. Cassey Hitch paired with Kalli Wiker on court two for an 8-3 win, and the duo of Ellie Mangan and Abigail Bond won 8-5 on court three.
In singles, Mangan won a three-set tiebreak matchup with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 final on court one, and Olivia Morris won her court four matchup, 6-0, 6-4. Hitch's court five win clinched the team victory with a 6-4, 6-0 final, and Brenna VanderYacht notched a singles win on court six with a near-sweeping 6-1, 6-1 victory. The Pios took courts two and three, but Danielle Brown fought well in a 4-6, 4-6 defeat and Wiker forced her opponent at no. 3 to the very edge in a 6-7 (8-6), 6-0, 0-1 (8-10) loss.

The Bruins improve to 11-6 over with a 3-2 record against Northwest Conference opponents.Â
