SPOKANE, Wash. --- After starting off their Northwest Conference schedule with a tie against Whitman the day prior, the Bruins concluded their trip to the Whits with another tie, a 2-2 outing against Whitworth.
How It Happened
The Bruins took an early lead when a shot by
Robert Rodarte found the back of the net within the nine minutes into the game.
Kyle Revell took advantage of a breakaway down the right side of the line, finding Rodarte darting towards the back post.
However, that lead was short-lived as Whitworth's Jaime Rodriguez countered with a goal within 5 minutes.
Eugene Peltier once again put the Bruins on top with his first goal of the game. A miscommunication on the Pirates' back line gave the ball to
Johnny Keblish, who found Peltier wide open for the empty net goal.
Thh Bruins led for the remainder of the first half and well into the second half, but the score was once again evened when Rodriguez found the back of the net for Whitworth. From there, both teams battled out the remainder of the game. When neither team was able to score the remainder of the game, the Bruins walked away from Spokane with their second straight tie. The competitive outing concluded an unbeaten weekend for the Bruins.
