ROME, Ga. – The George Fox men's tennis team had three players travel to Georgia to play in the ITA Cup hosted by Berry College. Eli Mizerski, Zach Moore, and Hunter Fujimori are the three Bruins playing this week. 

How It Happened - Thursday
Opening the day in singles, Eli Mizerski faced off against Middlebury College's Julian Wu. Despite losing the first set, Mizerski displayed resilience by winning the second set, forcing a deciding third set. Mizerski battled closely but lost the third set, 6-4.

Later in the afternoon, Zach Moore and Hunter Fujimori were taking on the duo from Pomona Pitzer. Moore and Fujimori had earned their place at the ITA Cup after winning the Northwest ITA Regional Championships. The two could not secure the win, losing, 6-1, 6-3.

Coach's Thoughts
"We were very impressed with Eli's performance today against a quality opponent in Julian," said Bruin head coach Jeff Cero, "It hurts to drop it after setting himself up to take it so well, but a lot of good things to build on, both in this weekend, and through this next season." 

How It Happened - Friday
The lone Bruin to play on Friday was Eli Mizerski after the afternoon doubles match was rained out. Mizerski was able to win in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. He will continue to play on Saturday when he takes on Caleb Wilkins from Chapman; that match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.

Coach's Thoughts
"Eli followed up his strong performance with a great match against a tricky opponent," said Bruin head coach Jeff Cero, "I thought he carried himself well, and it reflected in a strong match from beginning to end. Looking forward to finishing well tomorrow."

How It Happened - Saturday
After being rained out on Friday, doubles was back in action on Saturday. Hunter Fujimori and Zach Moore had a tight matchup against their opponent from Mary Washington but could not win the match. Mizerski was also in a close match for singles, forcing the first set to an extra game. He could not pull out the win, losing, 7-5, 6-1.
