TACOMA, Wash. — After shutting down first-place Pacific Lutheran in the first half, the George Fox women's soccer team were unable to push past the Lutes in the second half, losing 3-0.
How It Happened
The defense for the Bruins shone in the first half, holding the Lutes to scoreless. However, the Bruins offense was unable to take a lead against an equally stout Lute defense. The Bruins had four shots in the first half, two of which required saves, and while the Lutes had at least twice that, the Bruins defense kept them out of the goal.
Though the Bruins held back the Lutes for the first half, they were unable to hold them back for long in the second half. After a scoreless first six minutes in the half, the Lutes scored three times over a 15 minute span, and though the Bruins scared the goal a couple times, they were unable to erase the deficit, falling 3-0 to the Lutes.
