SPOKANE, Wash. — George Fox men's soccer concluded their eastern Washington swing with a tough loss, as the Whitworth Pirates took down Fox, 7-0.
How It Happened
The Bruins found themselves down early, falling behind 1-0 in the tenth minute after the Pirates scored in a sequence following a corner kick. Whitworth put another goal past the Bruins in the 22nd minute, scoring two goals before Fox could get a shot off. The Bruins' first shot of the day was on target, but saved by the Pirates goal keeper in the 24th minute. Whitworth scored three more times in the half, finding the back of the net in the 38th, 40th, and 44th minutes. Putting Fox in a 5-0 hole going into halftime.
The second half was much of the same, as Fox put pressure on the Pirates twice, getting two shots in the 74th minute but neither found the back of the net. Whitworth scored their sixth and seventh goals of the game in the second half, wrapping up the game as GFU lost, 7-0.
